A new study says many Canadians who need marijuana for medical conditions don't have easy access to legal pot. UBC researcher Rielle (ree-ELLE') Capler says about one-third of 450 patients surveyed say they are buying cannabis illegally, in part because new federal regulations make pot too expensive and difficult to obtain. (Capler says only about one-eighth of those surveyed are accessing marijuana under the new federal laws introduced last year, which require patients to purchase from commercially licensed suppliers.)
