Preview Clip

Pierre Karl Peladeau, the front-runner in the Parti Quebecois leadership race, has moved one step closer to becoming party leader now that one of his four rivals has pulled out of the race. When he announced he was dropping out of the race, Bernard Drainville threw his support squarely behind the media mogul. Surveys have put Drainville in third place and during a news conference in Quebec city, he admitted there was no way he could overtake Peladeau. (Drainville says he and Peladeau have agreed to consult P-Q members at least six months before the next election to ask them about the party's approach to sovereignty and whether there should be an independence referendum in the first mandate of a Parti Quebecois government.)
