The auditor general says the quality of health care in remote First Nations communities is sorely lacking. Health Minister Rona Ambrose says the federal government is working to get more front-line healthcare workers to remote communities. And Ambrose says those efforts appear to be paying off. (Michael Ferguson's spring report to Parliament concluded that Health Canada can't say for sure that all eligible First Nations individuals in remote communities in Manitoba and Ontario can access sufficient clinical and client care services and medical transportation.)
