Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger has elevated two backbenchers in a cabinet shuffle today. Tom Nevakshonoff (neh-VAKK'-shuh-noff) and Mohinder Saran are joining the front benches. Saran played a key role in Selinger's survival of a caucus revolt, by delivering constituency delegates for Selinger's campaign. But the premier says Saran is being promoted for other reasons. (None of the five former cabinet ministers who challenged Selinger's leadership are part of the new cabinet. Selinger says he offered a post to Theresa Oswald, but she turned him down.)
