2015-05-06 | Manitoba Rebels Run Again

Preview Clip

Two Manitoba New Democrats who challenged Premier Greg Selinger's leadership have won the right to run again under the party banner in next year's election. Andrew Swan and Jennifer Howard were unopposed in recent days as the deadline for nominations passed in their respective Winnipeg constituencies of Minto and Fort Rouge. Swan says despite the internal strife, he has always been committed to the party. (Swan and Howard were among five cabinet ministers who suggested last fall that Selinger resign in the wake of low poll numbers. Selinger rejected the idea and called for a leadership vote, which he survived by a narrow margin in March.)
