Newfoundland and Labrador is moving to cut the salaries of health information staff more than two years after the auditor general flagged "excessive" pay hikes. Health Minister Steve Kent says about 50 staff at the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information will see pay cuts averaging 7,600 dollars a year. (The Crown agency is developing an electronic medical records system and had set salaries under its own legislation. The auditor general said salaries weren't in line with government rates.)
