Preview Clip

The leadership crisis faced by Manitoba's governing New Democrats has led to an exodus of senior staff and six-figure severance pay. The government has released details that show seven senior political staff, including most of Premier Greg Selinger's top advisers, have been given a total of 670-thousand dollars in severance pay. Speaking in the legislature, Opposition Tory member Kelvin Goertzen (GUHRT'-zehn) says the pay is not fair to taxpayers. (The departures followed a leadership vote in March that Selinger survived by a narrow margine. The premier says it's normal in government operations for staff to depart, and the severance pay followed legal advice.)
