Canada Post and the city of Hamilton are bracing for battle -- and municipalities across the country are watching to see who wins. The fight is over just how much of a say local governments can have over where new community mailboxes are installed. Hamilton City Councillor Terry Whitehead says Canada Post isn't respecting municipal regulations and the matter is now heading to court. (Canada Post is ignoring a city bylaw requiring it to apply for permits to install the mailboxes, saying it has the legal authority to install them on municipally owned property.)
