Head offices and recently announced job cuts were on Pierre Karl Peladeau's mind during his first questions as Opposition leader in the Quebec national assembly. Peladeau talked about job cuts at Bombardier and elsewhere and the recent sale of the Montreal-based Cirque du Soleil. It was acquired by American and Chinese investors. Earlier, Couillard said Peladeau's plan for independence has nothing to do with reality and that the new P-Q leader is living in a parallel world. But Peladeau says what's real is that the Quebec economy needs to improve. (Responding to Peladeau in the legislature, the premier said that Quebec's economic plan has begun to work and will continue to be effective.)
