The federal government has pledged to add 100 new RCMP officers to Surrey B-C's troops in an effort to stem ongoing shootings related to a turf war over the drug trade. But National Revenue Minister Kerry-Lynne Findlay couldn't say when the Mounties will arrive. Surrey's acting mayor Barbara Steele says she trusts that Chief Superintendent Bill Fordy already has plans for the new officers. (Many people have been injured and one person has been killed in the turf war over the low-level drug trade that has escalated since March.)
