A Manitoba politician who butted heads with Premier Greg Selinger will likely represent the NDP again in next year's election. Christine Melnick is unopposed in her bid to keep the party's nomination in the Riel constituency in south Winnipeg. Melnick says doesn't want to discuss her past conflicts with the premier. (Melnick came under fire for using civil servants to round up supporters for an immigration debate at the legislature in 2012. She said the premier's staff knew of her plan, but Selinger denied it and kicked her out of caucus last year. She was recently allowed back into the fold, although Melnick and Selinger have not publicly said whether they have patched up their differences.)
