The president of Emera says the energy company will begin generating power from the tides of the Bay of Fundy by the end of the year. Chris Huskilson says the turbines will be built in Nova Scotia. He says they will start with a pair of two-megawatt units. (Turbines that were tested in 2009 were heavily damaged, but Huskilson says they now have a better understanding of the power of the bay. He says the unit has been redesigned, and OpenHydro's parent company has guaranteed that it will work.)
