The mayor of Cache Creek, B-C says a weekend flood could cost local residents and the community a couple of million dollars. More than 26 millimetres of rain fell the Interior town on Saturday flooding homes and streets. Mayor John Ranta says one home was washed off its foundation, about half a dozen may be condemned, the fire hall was damaged, as were some local streets and sidewalks. (Ranta says he expects the flood will cost the village about 400-thousand dollars and local residents could be out two to three-million dollars.)
