The man charged in Calgary's worst mass murder will appear before a judge and jury in May of next year. Matthew de Grood is facing five counts of first-degree murder after the attack at the end of school house party in April, 2014. His lawyer, Allan Fay, says the court has decided to bring a judge in from outside of Calgary to hear the case. (De Grood's parents and family members from the five victims were also in the courtroom this morning.)
