An internal report says a suicidal man found hanged in his room at the Waterford psychiatric hospital in St. John's, Newfoundland was not checked on for almost an hour. Joanne Calhoun says her 39-year-old son, Kerry Murray, was left alone on March 13 when he was supposed to be checked every 15 minutes. (Eastern Health oversees the hospital and says procedures will be externally reviewed. It says it deeply regrets what happened.)
