Canada's western premiers discussed the impact of low oil prices at their annual meeting today. The event was done by teleconference as a way of saving money and convenience. Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall says low commodity prices have reinforced the need for economic diversification. (The leaders have also expressed support for the federal government in the handling of the country of origin labelling dispute with the US. Alberta's Rachel Notley was the only premier who was unable to take part in the meeting.)
