The opposition parties warn today's passage of the Ontario budget, which clears the way for the sale of Hydro One, will mean the government will lose control of the utility's actions and of electricity prices. In the legislature, Premier Kathleen Wynne says the province will keep 40 per cent of Hydro One, but NDP Leader Andrea Horwath disputed the claim. (Selling Hydro One removes oversight of the utility the Ontario's ombudsman, auditor general, financial accountability officer, integrity commissioner and privacy commissioner - all independent officers of the legislature.)
