Ontario's opposition parties voted against the provincial budget today, which the Liberal majority approved, clearing the way for the sale of Hydro One. Progressive Conservative energy critic John Yakabuski told the legislature the Liberals should not be removing oversight of Hydro One by Ontario's ombudsman and auditor general. (The New Democrats turned their backs on the government after voting against the budget, claiming the Liberals were turning their backs on the people of Ontario by selling Hydro One without holding a referendum.)
