Some provincial and territorial health ministers meeting in Toronto want the federal government to help create a national pharmacare program to pay for prescription drugs. Newfoundland and Labrador Health Minister Steve Kent says this year's federal election is a good time to focus all the federal political parties on the issue of pharmacare. (British Columbia Health Minister Terry Lake says the provinces and territories could set up a national pharmacare program without the federal government, but most of his colleagues say they need Ottawa's participation.)
