Some provincial and territorial health ministers are meeting in Toronto today to discuss a national pharmacare program to provide universal public coverage for prescription drugs. Most of them say they need the federal government to help create a pharmacare program, but British Columbia Health Minister Terry Lake has a different take. (Ontario Health Minister Eric Hoskins, who is a physician, says one-in-10 Canadians cannot afford to pay for their prescription drugs, a problem he says could be solved with a national pharmacare program.)
