Newfoundland and Labrador's auditor general is flagging millions of dollars spent on external consultants in his latest report. finance Minister Ross Wiseman says it's unacceptable that Transportation and Works often didn't follow government guidelines as it spent about 29 million dollars for outside help. (The auditor general found some of those contracts were paid out at four thousand per cent of their original value. Wiseman says the government accepts his recommendations for more oversight.)
