The federal Conservatives have finally introduced plans to crack down harder on drunk drivers, two years after they first pledged to do so. Justice Minister Peter MacKay says the Dangerous and Impaired Driving Act will increase penalties for everyone who drives while impaired, but especially so for those who cause others direct harm. (But with the legislation coming in the final days of this Parliament, the measures aren't likely to be put in force for a long time.)
