Light armoured vehicles that carried Canadian troops through war-torn Afghanistan are being turned into monuments. The LAVs were the workhorses of the Canadian Forces during the Afghanistan mission. Shawn Deane of Canada Company says the 250 retired vehicles are being stripped down and being offered as memorials to communities across Canada. (Deane says 30 applications have already been received along with 20 expressions of interest from across the country.)
