Residents and local officials are calling for changes to federal regulations after the deaths of three crab fishermen in Newfoundland's Placentia Bay. Provincial government member Calvin Peach says federal restrictions meant the fishermen wound up in an open speedboat for a second crab quota rather than the longliner they had nearby. (The bodies of the fishermen were recovered yesterday after they left Tuesday night in a seven-metre open boat to check their crab pots. The Transportation Safety Board is investigating.)
