The RCMP has delivered an external hard drive containing Quebec's long-gun registry records to the Federal Court in compliance with a court order. At issue are retroactive legal changes buried in the latest Conservative omnibus budget bill, which has cleared Parliament and is set to receive royal assent. During a visit to a micro-brewery in Quebec City, NDP leader Tom Mulcair said the Conservatives have used the registry to divide Canadians. (Mulcair also said he's convinced that Quebecers will turn their backs on sovereignty. His comments came as Quebecers prepared to celebrate the Fete Nationale today. June 24th events have been used by nationalists to promote independence.)

Transcript Prediction: << anything that can be used as a wedge if it's issued by the conservatives they'll use that way so they haven't played cleanly with Canadians they haven't been honest with the courts and they haven't been honest with the commissioner and good for her for standing up to Stephen Harper's conservatives I do a little bit about that that's what I've been doing is leader of the opposition for the past few years but you know what it's high time we got rid of that way of doing things >>
