The New Brunswick government will hold a summit October 7th in Moncton to address the issue of seniors being kept in hospitals while awaiting placement in nursing homes or other care. Health Minister Victor Boudreau says health care professionals from across the province will be asked for their input. He says they also hope to learn best practices from other places. (The New Brunswick Medical Society says more nursing homes are needed. It says the average wait time for placement in a nursing home is about four months in New Brunswick.)
