Wildfires and hazardous smoke have forced at least three-thousand people from their homes in northern Saskatchewan. Emergency officials say they expect more evacuations throughout the day. Colin King with the province's emergency management department, says fires and smoke have been threatening communities near La Ronge and La Loche since late last week, and the situation hasn't improved. (Premier Brad wall is touring the area today with officials. They say there have been 522 fires so far this season, compared to an average of 150 at this time of year.)
