Vancouver-area mayors aren't happy but say they respect the decision by voters to reject a new tax to fund major transportation upgrades. Residents panned the plan that would have paid for new buses, roads, a bridge and subway extension. Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson says it's now much more difficult to figure out how leaders will get important infrastructure projects built. (Robertson says the mayors won't try using a plebiscite to raise money again, noting this is the second time a new provincial sales tax has been rejected by B-C voters.)
