The Nova Scotia government says it will not install fences on the rocks at Peggy's Cove because they wouldn't deter people from getting too close to the ocean. However, Municipal Affairs Minister Mark Furey says the government will install new warning signs. As well, he says reinstating a local patrol probably wouldn't work that well. (Furey says new safety measures are being considered in response to two recent incidents of people falling into the rough surf at the well-known tourist attraction.)
