Nova Scotia's environment minister says Northern Pulp is questioning whether its Pictou mill can achieve water reduction targets set by the province. Randy Delorey says department staff set the targets based on the information available when the original approval was issued. He says mill officials provided new information to him during the appeal process, but he couldn't share it with staff. (The province is making eight changes to its industrial approval of Northern Pulp in response to an appeal from the Pictou pulp mill earlier this year.)
