Preview Clip

A Superior Court Justice has ruled the 430-million dollar settlement fund proposal for victims of the Lac-Megantic, Quebec train disaster is fair and can proceed, despite objections by Canadian Pacific Railway. Justice Gaetan Dumas rejected C-P's claims the fund was illegal and unfair. Lawyer Jeff Orenstein who represents the victims of the disaster that killed 47 people on July 6th, 2013, says the money should start flowing to victims and creditors soon. (C-P can still appeal the decision, however, but it's not automatic and the firm will need to get approval to appeal from a judge.)
