The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives says the study is based on Statistics Canada data and compares men and women in five areas -- economic security, education, health, leadership and personal security. The study's author, Kate McInturff, says transparency helps narrow the divide between men and women. (That means both employees and employers know the gaps, which helps close them.)
