The parliamentary budget office says based on the latest Bank of Canada economic forecast, the federal government is on track to run a one-billion dollar budget deficit in the current fiscal year. Canadian Press reporter Terry Pedwell says the new numbers aren't good news for the Harper Conservatives, who promised to balance the books this year.
