The Bank of Canada's latest economic forecast puts the federal government on track to run a one-billion-dollar deficit in 2015-16. That's according to a new analysis by the Parliamentary Budget Office. NDP leader Tom Mulcair says it casts doubt on the Harper Conservatives' promise to balance the books. (The new calculations are based on the downgraded projection released last week by the central bank. The PBC also trims the government's expected surpluses over the next two years.)
