Cooler weather and higher humidity are helping firefighters at a wildfire burning out of control near West Kelowna. Fire information officer Noelle Kekula (kah-COO'-lah) says a short break from hot, dry weather has allowed planes in to help control the four-and-a-half square kilometre blaze, dropping both water and fire retardant."...this morning." (Residents in 70 homes have been evacuated. The Westside Road fire is one of about 250 blazes currently burning across B-C.)
