A researcher at the University of New Brunswick says policy makers need to prepare for the implications of an increasing number of seniors spending some of their golden years driving commercial vehicles. Eric Hildebrand says right now seniors represent about 14 per cent of New Brunswick's driving population and within the next couple of decades that's going to increase to one in four. (Hildebrand says preliminary figures show that drivers over the age of 70 driving tractor trailers were involved in accidents at a rate of 6.3 times more than middle aged drivers.)
