The Canadian Wheat Board created in 1935 to market western Canadian is now history. Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz says Ottawa has finalized the sale of the CWB to G3 Global Grain Group. G3 CEO Karl Gerrand (JERR-AND) says the wheat board will be rolled into a new Winnipeg-based company called G3 Canada. Gerrand says the new brand will soon be seen across the country. (Despite several lawsuits and vocal opposition from some farmers, the federal government went ahead three years ago with a long-standing promise to abolish the what board's monopoly.)
