The M-V Farley Mowat was raised off the bottom of Shelburne Harbour, Nova Scotia, at around 2:30 this morning. Keith Laidlaw, a senior response officer with the Canadian Coast Guard, says it took weeks of preparation to get the ship ready to lift. (The derelict ship was a concern to the Coast Guard because of the amount of oil it had been leaking since it sank in the harbour in late June.)
