Conservative Leader Stephen Harper is promising a 1.5-billion dollar a year new permanent home renovation tax credit if he is re-elected in October. In response to Liberal criticism that Tory policies don't help people who really need it, Harper says the renovation tax credit will help every single Canadian, whether they have children or not, who owns a home of any kind.
