The B-C Nurses' Union and the province are teaming up to invest two million dollars in an effort to prevent violence against health-care workers. Union president Gayle Duteil (due-TAY') says 12 high-risk hospitals have been identified and four of those will receive initial funding. Measures will include more staff, de-escalation training and new distress button systems. (Duteil says the union is resolved to see the issue of violence against workers addressed across the health-care system.)
