The second mass stranding off the coast of Nova Scotia in two days has seen all 14 whales helped back to sea. The Marine Animal Response Society and Fisheries and Oceans Canada joined the local fire department and residents Wednesday night after 14 pilot whales were beached off Bayfield - and again when they returned Thursday morning. Tonya Wimmer, the president of the Marine Animal Response Society, says it is rare for this many whales to get stranded in such a short time. (Eight whales died after a pod of at least 16 were stranded near Judique in Cape Breton on Tuesday.)
