Prime Minister Stephen Harper is warning Canadians that only a re-elected Conservative government will protect what he says is the most important savings vehicle since RSP's. Harper says the Liberals and NDP voted this year against increasing maximum contributions to Tax Free Savings Accounts and even against creating the plan in 2009. But he rejects their argument the increases only help the rich. (The opposition parties have said they would leave TFSA's in place but would roll back maximum annual contributions from 10-thousand dollars to the former level of 55-hundred dollars.)
