Justin Trudeau says some people in Ottawa could learn from the example of a now former Liberal candidate who resigned over controversial remarks she made online. Ala Buzreba stepped down after comments she made years ago, as a teenager, surfaced on Twitter, apparently having been dug up by Conservative supporters. Speaking in Winnipeg today, Trudeau applauded Buzreba for taking responsibility for her mistakes. (The controversial remarks include Buzreba implying that the mother of a strident defender of Israel should have had an abortion. Buzreba says the tweets "reflect a much younger person," and she's learned a lot about social media since posting them.)
