British Columbia's Criminal Justice Branch has filed a court application to have Allan Schoenborn declared high risk. Schoenborn killed his three children at their Merritt, B-C, home in 2008 but in May was granted escorted access to the community at the discretion of the psychiatric hospital's director. Criminal Justice Branch spokesman Neil MacKenzie says if the Crown's application is successful, Schoenborn would only be allowed to leave the hospital for very specific reasons. (MacKenzie says a first appearance has been scheduled for B-C Supreme Court in New Westminster on September 10th.)
