The campaign director who helped Rachel Notley become Alberta premier is heading to Manitoba. Gerry Scott is being hired by the Manitoba New Democrats as a senior adviser and campaign strategist in advance of a provincial election slated for April. Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger is down in opinion polls, but Scott says many people expected Selinger to fail in the 2011 election. (Scott, who is 64, has decades of experience on NDP campaigns in British Columbia, Ontario, Nova Scotia and elsewhere. Manitoba's NDP government has seen an exodus of senior staff following an internal revolt last fall.)
