Fice Minister Mike de Jong is forecasting a surplus budget despite forest fire costs of almost 400 million dollars scorching the bottom line. He says British Columbia will be one of the few provinces to post a surplus budget, and B-C's projected economic growth of two per cent will likely be near the top in Canada. (De Jong says the budget surplus is forecast to be 277 million dollars, down seven million dollars from last year's forecast.)
