A seriously ill baby girl who made headlines when her parents launched a court action to treat her with cannabis oil is doing well without her ventilator. Lawyer Erin Haupt (HOPPED) says five-month-old Mary Jane Pierce was taken off the machine two weeks ago and is getting better. She says the parents visit her often in hospital and have dropped their application to gain more control of decisions in her care. (The Children's Ministry obtained temporary custody of Mary Jane last month and still plans to seek permanent custody, but Haupt says the parents intend to show they can be good caregivers.)
