The federal election campaign is certainly heating up in one Winnipeg riding, where there are accusations of poking and swearing, and a threatened lawsuit. Things came to a head at a candidates' debate this week in Winnipeg-Centre, when incumbent New Democrat Pat Martin was caught by cameras calling one of his opponents a "son of a bitch". That opponent, Green Party candidate Don Woodstock, is also accusing Martin of jabbing him in the ribs and swearing at him. (Martin was not available to comment on the accusation. The campaign in Winnipeg Centre has already seen controversy over where each candidate lives. Martin threatened to sue his opponents because he said they were spreading rumours he lives in British Columbia.)
