Taking on and defeating a federal party leader is a monumental task, but a number of people are trying to do just that across the country. Liberal Rachel Bendayan is trying to unseat NDP Leader Tom Mulcair in the Montreal riding of Outremont. Bendayan says getting a head start was key. (Outremont was once considered a Liberal stronghold. But since Mulcair's arrival in 2007, it has gone NDP, with the party leader securing more than 56 per cent of the vote in 2011.)
