Dozens of dairy farmers from Ontario and Quebec are on Parliament Hill to raise concerns about protecting Canada's supply management system in the Trans Pacific Partnership negotiations. Negotiations are currently underway on the ambitious trade deal involving Canada and 11 other countries. During a campaign stop north of Toronto today, Prime Minister Stephen Harper says previous Liberal governments have been unable to move foward on trade deals because as soon as someone objects, they walk away from the table. (Harper says his government is absolutely committed to making sure we preserve our supply management system through trade negotiations and says those decisions are for Canadians to make -- not foreigners.)
